About Dan Reshef
Dan Reshef is a technology executive with more than two decades of senior experience in the non-profit space, most of it in the education space and for organizations that expand access for people historically excluded from opportunity. Although his career has been rooted in technology, his focus has always been on understanding the outcomes organizations are looking to achieve and empowering the people who need to use technology to make sustainable impact.
Whole technology systems can now be deployed nearly instantaneously, but people and institutions cannot adapt at that speed. Making lasting change requires working collaboratively to select the right tools while giving people the time, support, and agency to understand how their work is changing and why.
His current work is interdisciplinary and spans how technology changes organizations, human judgment, education, and childhood, with particular interests in AI governance, cybersecurity, institutional decision-making.
As part of the founding team at CUNY's Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism, he helped establish the technology environment supporting the new school. He later served as the inaugural Managing Director of IT at Harlem Children's Zone, where he developed enterprise technology strategy, modernized infrastructure and information systems, supported five major construction projects including a new charter school, and strengthened cybersecurity and risk-management capabilities.
Today, Dan advises organizations on technology strategy, cybersecurity, AI governance, and organizational transformation through his fractional CIO/CISO practice.
Dan holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Temple University and an M.S. in Business Management and Leadership from the City University of New York. He also has a number of certifications, including the CISSP, PMP, SHRM-SCP, CETL, and ITIL 4 Digital and IT Strategy certifications. He also serves as Treasurer of Temple University's College of Science and Technology Alumni Board.
Dan's interest in childhood and technology has become increasingly personal since becoming a father. Outside of work, he reads voraciously and enjoys photography, strength training, martial arts, archery, and strategy games.
